Merced residents will be getting a new gift in 2024 in the form of a new Chick-fil-A restaurant.
Mayor Matt Serratto told CVJC the new restaurant will be located in the area of Martin Luther King Jr. Way near 15th Street, in the same vicinity where Merced Powersports is located just across the street from In-N-Out Burger.
City officials also posted a brief notification on their Facebook page about the new restaurant Thursday afternoon.
The date for when construction will begin has not been announced. “It’s a big deal that a chain restaurant the caliber of Chick-fil-A takes us seriously and considers us a good investment,” Serratto said.
“Especially once the (Highway 99 construction) is finished, it’s going to get people off the 99 coming to Merced (and) be a big driver of tax revenue. It’s going to bring people from all over to Merced. You couple that with more improvements to downtown, and I think it really bodes well for our city.”
